Spend far to much time on hold waiting for an answer, can't pre book a drs appointment get told to call on the morning between 8 and 11, terrible if you need to book appointments around work. The doctors and staff themselves are great just the service that isn't
Reception staff & doctors are very helpful & I've always made to feel comfortable! Triage call service is fantastic & convenience of the appointments! Even more convenient is the blood bank clinic upstairs 5 mornings a wk!!
Can be difficult to call them to set up an appointment, but can circumvent this issue using their MyGP app. Great doctors, no problem.
Ive been with Oak Vale medical Centre for over 30 years. My Mother, for over 70 years, during its various incarnations & have NEVER had a problem or complaint. I sincerely cannot praise highly enough, the G.Ps, Nurses & reception staff for their help & friendly attitude. There are family members of mine, who live in various areas of Liverpool & obviously use other surgeries. They seem to frequently have niggles & problems, ie Waiting times, incorrect advice, unable to get appointments etc, etc. Of course, there are always people who will see a problem where there are none, but I consider myself lucky.
Very long waiting time.Some doctors are great and take the time to actually listen to your issues and examine you, but most treat it like a conveyor belt, in and out.l, with little time to discuss your issue let alone a proper examination. There are even doctors who are very argumentative, aggressive and confrontational, and still believe that as a doctor, they are always right. Some even have communication issues.Reception staff are usually helpful but you get the odd one or two who don't seem interested and would rather chat with colleagues than help.It is a very nice and modern surgery however, and has a library attached so a great chance to pop in and check it out.Overall, Not the best place, but also not the worst.
