Almost exactly as I remember it from many, many, many years ago! The staff are really welcoming and friendly and the seats are amazingly comfy! A fantastic experience - especially with the mid film intermission to buy ice cream... just like the old days!! Highly recommended!!
Great example of cinemas of old. Single screen, velvet curtains. Run by enthusiasts. Shows current films. I recently saw Stan and Ollie here. Since the film was set in 1950's Britain, the vintage cinema was an ideal setting.I think this cinema dates from 1927I think it's about the last surviving single screen cinema in Liverpool.So use it..or lose it.
I love watching films in this historic building, the last single screen cinema in Liverpool. There's an interval for ice cream like the old days and the price is much less than a multiplex.

Great little cinema which retains the charm of old picture houses many of which are now sadly lost to development. The quirky establishment has a small bar serving hot drinks and beer and wine, and my favourite part is the intermission halfway through the film (standard on every showing) where ice cream is on sale at the front of the cinema stage. It also eases your mind if you've had a large coke and need to visit the loo.The quality and sound of the cinema is great (I'm no audiophile though). Don't expect luxurious leather recliner seats - these are the original springy red material standard cinema seats, and in my opinion they add to the charm and experience of the place.
