Ever since this Post Office changed from a Crown Post Office run by the Royal Mail to a rubbish shop with shop attendants running the Post Office counter the service has been abysmal! Sometimes the staff are helpful but if you are enquiring about anything other than very basic information then you are stuck. In a way its not their fault. The Post Office should only be run by well trained Post Office staff whose English is excellent. I dont care what colour, creed or race the staff are as long as they are competent. A Post Office is not a corner shop but it seems that many of them are being run by people who treat them as such and do not have the training nor knowledge regarding Post Office duties. It is the responsibility of the Royal Mail to ensure that such Crown Post Offices (ie ones that used to offer a superior, extended service) should only be sold off to or run by people who could offer the same standard and satisfaction of service as the Royal Mail has provided. I suppose the question is why did the Royal Mail sell (I presume they must have sold the business and gained cash) the business in the first place? Is this like selling the family silver? Are they in such a desperate situation?? Im afraid I think the GPO should never have been taken out of public services and made an independent company. The idea was that it would flourish more this way because the Tories seem to think everything that was nationalised would do better as a private company. I am not a left wing person who thinks everything should be nationalised but I do believe that some things should be more regulated so that all of the people of the country get a decent service which doesnt mean a company that has to make profits and pay out share holders or even a small family company instead of putting any profits straight back into the business. So

Contrary to other reviews found customer care excellent.

Always a nice friendly service each time I've gone in here over the years :)

I sent out a parcel to someone out of my city and 2 weeks later they it hasnt came to the location I had to give the person his money back, worst of all I ask for a tracking number and they said and I quote there wont be a tracking number on it, its a standard delivery even though I paid first class too, paid more too, absolute joke
