Run down area...went into Thomas Cook ....staff in there didn't know what they were doing...sat there for hour... all they kept saying was 'oh it's a new system. .we can't get onto it... stressful visit.... won't be going back there
Very little here anymore except empty shops. Fingers crossed the proposed developments happen and breathe life back into it.
Absolutely awful place. Either betting shops or cafes. The only good thing about this town centre is the market I know they have plans to renovate the centre, but they need to get a good mixture of shops to move in.
Oh its proper dire isnt it..most of the shops are closed.. but there now charging for the carpark? and they have nocked down most of the buildings (and literally ALL of the local facilities) and then replaced them with piles of rubble and hoardings for failed projects.. Oh and thats before we get to the fact 'knowsley' (Huyton) council decided to pull down the beautiful local clock painted by the children of kirkby, and replace it with a fk ugly statue of a dead tree? Seriously? Its so aweful that it actually managed to make national news... Sadly the statue now resembles what the council have done to our town.
A little bit dismal at this moment, not as many shops as there used to be. But in year or so a new shopping centre is being built. So it should be a lot better by then.
